Sunday Morning Religious Education

• Grades 1-5
• 10:00-11:00 am; begins in September
• Washington Catholic High School

First Communion:  (2 years preparation)  Grades 1 & 2

Children will prepare to make their First Holy Communion in the Faith Formation classes that take place on Sunday mornings. There will be two parent sessions in the fall and two in the spring.  The Fall calendar is noted  as to which mornings parents will attend.

Confirmation & Faith Formation Grades 3-5

Confirmation is in the process of moving to the fifth grade by the fall of 2029. 

Youth who are in the 3rd-5th grade attend Faith Formation classes.  The year before they are Confirmed, additional classes to prepare for Confirmation will be built into the Faith Formation classes.  To participate in Confirmation classes, the child needs to be enrolled in Faith Formation. There are several classes where parents and sponsors are to attend.

• Parent Meeting Sunday August 30,2026 after the 9AM Mass 
• October 7, 2026 - Confirmation Session for youth, parents, and sponsors.

  6th, 7th, 8th grade youth

High School Youth Nights:

• High School youth have an opportunity to grow in their faith through fellowship, food, and discussion based faith formation using scripture and tools to help understand the catechism.

Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (Formerly OCIA)

OCIA is an integral part of the mission of the Church and the formation of its members. Those who are looking to join the Catholic Church as new members or complete their sacraments of initiation rightfully undergo a period of formation and preparation.
